I hold a Bachelors of Education degree in English and Social Studies. I taught English in South Korea to kindergarten, elementary, middle school, and adult students. I currently teach high school English in the Saskatoon area and am the EAL catalyst teacher for my school.
Experience
I have a Bachelors of Education in English and Social Studies and have experience teaching students of all ages. I have tutored Canadian students, students with learning disabilities, and English Second Language. I plan according to the needs of the learner and what works best for them. I am completing a CERTESL and Special Education certification from the U of S. I have experience tutoring in both individual and group settings. My students have ranged from middle school to adult students from beginner to advanced language abilties. Through travel and teaching experience, I have gained valuable experiences working with not only EAL students, but students of a diverse range of skills and abilities. I believe that everyone wants and deserves to learn, and through tutoring, students can get the help they need to experience greater success in their lives. As a teacher, I have experience in adapting for students who have various needs and tutoring is no exception.

I am a world traveler and have had the opportunity to travel through Eastern Europe, Asia, and the United States. Traveling has opened my eyes to the world, and I love sharing my stories with students. I love being active. I am a fitness enthusiast and love the outdoors. My husband and I love to hike, camp, ski, and do water sports. We try to bring our dog with us whenever we can. Music has been a major part of my life since I was young. I am trained in classical and jazz saxophone. For the past few years I played saxophone, guitar, and sang in a band in Saskatoon and we recently recorded an album. I absolutely love photography. I run the photography club at my school and also do freelance photography in my spare time. Landscape, portrait, families, or nature, I am always trying to learn new skills and challenge myself constantly improve. Lastly, I love to read and write. There is nothing better than a good book. I also write about what inspires me whether it is poetry or lyrics.
